Barry was appointed Executive Vice President: Australian operations on 1 February 2025. Barry joined Sibanye-Stillwater in August 2023 as Senior Vice President of the Australian region, following the acquisition of New Century Resources, which included the Century and Karumba Operations and the Mt Lyell Project. Prior to this, he was a founder and the Chief Operating Officer at New Century Resources from 2017.
With extensive experience in mining engineering, operations, mineral economics, strategic thinking, and corporate governance, Barry has held leadership roles across various commodities and jurisdictions. He has a proven track record in safely enhancing operational performance, improving standards, optimising value chains, and building high-performing teams. His career includes roles with New Century Resources, MMG Ltd, Byrnecut Mining Australia, Downer EDI, and Xstrata Coal.
Barry is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Member of AusIMM.
