Sibanye-Stillwater has in recent years diversified its portfolio with significant European acquisitions of interests in green metal projects and operations.
Located in Finland, the Keliber lithium project, in which we hold a 79% share, is strategically positioned close to critical and growing regional end-user battery markets for lithium hydroxide in Europe.
In February 2022, Sibanye-Stillwater successfully concluded the €85 million transaction to acquire French mining group Eramet SA’s Sandouville hydrometallurgical nickel processing facilities near Le Havre, France’s second largest industrial port.
Sibanye-Stillwater has established a strategic relationship with Verkor – Verkor aims to construct France’s first giga factory for low-carbon batteries for electric vehicles and large scale storage.
