Our Southern Africa PGM operations consist of underground mining operations and surface sources and concentrators in South Africa at Kroondal, Rustenburg and our recently acquired operations at Marikana, and in Zimbabwe at Mimosa (a 50% joint venture with Impala Platinum). We also have a 91% stake in the Platinum Mile tailings retreatment facility near Rustenburg, which recovers PGM’s from the tailings streams from the Rustenburg operations.
We mine and process PGM’s in our South Africa operations from both the UG2 and the Merensky reefs located in the Bushveld complex, a geologically unique region containing more than 80% of the world’s known PGM mineral resources.

Our gold operations consist of underground mining and surface treatment facilities in the Witwatersrand Basin.
At Stillwater and East Boulder in Montana, we mine the J-M Reef, the highest grade PGM deposit known in the world.
Our community initiatives seek to create enduring value for our host communities beyond the operating lives of our mines.
