Dr. Karin is Vice President of Stakeholder Relations, Sustainability and Communication for Sibanye-Stillwater’s European region. She joined the Group in this role in September 2023, having previously served as a Non- Executive Director of the Keliber lithium project since 2019. Dr. Karin brings over three decades of international experience in the mining and metals industry, with a career spanning Sweden, Canada, France, and the United Kingdom. She has held leadership roles at companies including Sandvik Steel, Alcan Aluminium (now Rio Tinto), Eramet, and TiZir, contributing to strategic development, sustainability integration, and stakeholder engagement across global markets. She also holds a certificate in corporate governance from INSEAD. Beyond her role at Sibanye-Stillwater, Dr. Karin is actively engaged in advancing the industry through leadership and advisory positions. These include serving as a MinSouth Councillor (regional section of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining), Ambassador for Achilles Information Ltd, President of Mineral Markets, Advisory Board Member for the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Drexel University, and Technical Advisory Board Member for the TiO2 World Summit and Pigment and Color Science Forum.
